The Aubergine has fruited!!!

Joy of joys.... my first ever aubergine


Not only that... there are two of them


This is from a vegetable that I have failed to produce in previous years and struggled to germinate this year, so I am absolutely over the moon.

    I have an aubergine growing from a plant I bought in a DIY store. It is outside and doing well but I don't really know how big to let it get before I harvest it. Any ideas?

    Hi Libby,

    I'm far from an aubergine expert but I believe they best picked when still shiny and firm to the touch.

    If it's a usable size I'd pick it.
